when I am playing audio or video on a web page eg. myspace, if I do not stop the player before moving to another page, Konqueror freezes up, and I have to terminate and restart.

Do you mean flash-based media? You can try to kill nspluginviewer when hang happens.

killing nspluginviewer solves it but does that means the problem is with the plugin, or the way it is called in konqueror?

Is it still happening to you in any recent version of KDE? We won't fix KDE 3.5 anymore, so please test with KDE 4.0.5 or KDE 4.1 when it's out.

NO freezing occurs again , but there seems to be an
audio conflict occurring.

Cannot reproduce anymore using KDE 4 trunk. Moreover the myspace music player has been heavily improved since then.
