Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Unspecified Linux OS: Linux when using Option "AccelMethod" "exa" in xorg.conf images are not rendered properly.. versions: xf86-video-intel 2.1 xorg 11R7.0 xorg-server 1.3
Does the same problem occur in other kde apps? What about non-kde apps?
no, konqueror displays images fine, as gwnview and kview.. as for non-kde apps feh works fine.. i also discovered that this problem only occours when im using my custom 2.6.20 archlinux's stock 2.6.22 kernel works fine.. i can provide a diff in config files...
Sounds like a problem at a lower level, though I can't think of a way to reliably confirm that.
i agree, i think you can safely mark this as resolved, as it doesn't even appear with newer kernel versions
It works now.
Well, this is happening to me with Kernel 2.6.23 - Gentoo-sources (which are basically vanilla with very few patches). Also someone else on Gentoo Forums has same problem, http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-4392032.html. Basically Intel driver + EXA + Kuickshow.. Preview images are fine, but not the display. Image type does not matter (Png, Jpeg, etc..) Please reopen - right now I'm using XV for checking out photos..
I don't think this is resolved... it may be a lower level problem, but until we know more about why only kuickshow exhibits this behavior this bug should stay open. Does kuickshow use the Render extension somehow for drawing images? Somehow the pixmaps are getting corrupted, but only on a path used by kuickshow...
Oh, and I'm seeing this too (and have for awhile) with recent kernels, X servers and Intel X drivers.
See Debian bug 448360 (http://bugs.debian.org/448360)
The patch in Debian bug fixes the issue for me.
