Description froller 2007-07-09 13:54:53 UTC
Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE 3.5.7-0.1.fc7 Fedora, Fedora release 7 (Moonshine))
Compiler: Target: i386-redhat-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.21-1.3228.fc7

After opening project with no opened files in session Kdevelop slows down and eats 100% of CPU. Also Kdevelop crashes when closing project during such slowdown.

This is not reproduceable here. What type of project (qmake, automake, custom makefile) are you using? What programming language do you use?

This bugreport needs more information.

Perl project and 'ScriptingLanguageIDE' profile.
I also use CVS as version control.
I found that reopening a project sometimes leads to normal function and low CPU usage.

Ok, all I can say is that the perl support is pretty much unmaintained since a long time. I suspect the problem is the perl parser as the scriptingproject is also used for other scripting languages where it works much better.

Depending on how much this bugs you, you should think about switching to another IDE.

wontfix in kdevelop3 and kdevelop4 ships without perl
