Version: 3.5.7 (using KDE 3.5.7, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.7-0ubuntu1~feisty2) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-ck1 When adding new apps, it's sometimes a struggle to know where in the Kmenu structure that the icon for the app is. Let's have some way to indicate this, via: 1.) Pop up that says "Hey, foo was installed and can be found under the "System" menu 2.) A category that has "New apps" and a list of the last 5 apps that have been installed. Can even be an option for how long before turning this off
Still waiting on something for this one. It's a good idea, people!
I agree, I like that idea! I don't do stuff for KDE 3.5 but I might do it for KDE 4.3!! Let me put it in my todo list for Kickoff....
openSUSE's KDE packages have a patch for 2) Bug 171336 is similar.
@Stephan: it is very similar, I'll suggest to set bug 171336 to a dup of this.

The openSUSE patch for "Recently Installed" is integrated upstream, see bug 293696. What's missing is showing where you can find them later.
Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
