Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Debian stable Packages Reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=412424 kstars uses a special kstar.pl URL at aavso.org, which attempts to retrieve a graphical (gif) lightcurve for the given object. It is presently broken, quite possibly by changes at aavso. It should really use the generic LCG url, parse it, and retrieve the necessary graphic.
Actually, the URL for accessing the images is still present, and depending on start and end date one gets different errors: - For valid start and end date you'll get an internal server error - For invalid start or end date you'll get an image that states "There's a problem with your date"
LCGenerator use broken URLs to access. http://www.aavso.org/cgi-bin/kstar.pl?2455064?2455064?0007+48??no?no?no?no?no?no?no Original bug report (in debian bugtrack) suggests to use generic LCG URL
Inspection of logs shown that LCGenerator always used URL with multiple question marks. Example of such URL is in message above. Scheme of valid URL is required to fix this bug. P.S. I'm afraid it never worked in first place.
Confirmed. It actually used to work and it was tested by AASVO and me. But I take it AASVO made changes which wasn't reflected in the kstars.pl script, and now it appears there is another KStars parsing error. On my TODO list.
