Description David Lütolf 2007-06-20 23:01:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 4.1.2
OS: Linux

I can't describe the bug better than I did in the short desc, so here's how to get the bug to show up (was present on 3.5.6 as well)

1. open kontact
2. in the left menu (icons), click "calendar". the windows now shows the left menu with icons, a column which shows the days of the month + the tasks list + details on the selection, and on the right the details for the days selected in the month area just left.
3. hide de center column, so now you only have the left menu (icons) and some days with their respective appointments.
4. in the menu (icons), click any of "summary", "messages", "contacts", "diary", "notes", "sync" or "feeds"
5. in the menu (icons), click "calendar. the window is still as it was left before
6. now, select "task list"
7. come back to "calendar". that section which was hidden just before comes back.

kontact was started with terminal with no arguments, output follows:

plugins loaded: all but knode. this should not be relevant anyway, since kalendar is taking care of the tasks as well

expected behaviour: this stupid column should keep hidden, of course!

have a nice day fixing this... muahahaha

I can confirm this.

>f*** can anyone with the powers PLEASE remove the e-mail addresses included in the report?
At least I don't have the power, not sure if this is even possible.
Comment 3 David Lütolf 2007-06-23 10:51:17 UTC
UPDATE: this is more likely to be a korganizer bug. the behaviour is triggered by the following events, in korganiser stand-alone version as well as kontact plug-in.

- switching from "one or a few days" view to month view and back
- switching from "one or a few days" view to task list and back

Reassigning to KOrganizer then.
Comment 5 Denis Kurz 2016-09-24 18:44:31 UTC
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 6 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 22:11:51 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
