Description Karl Scriba 2007-06-16 04:36:01 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Following a system crash (openSuSE 10.2) knotes crashes on startup and causes the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

Prior to the system crash knotes started and worked without problems.

I reinstalled all the kdepim3 RPMs, but knotes continues to crash with the same backtrace.

I confirm, that this bug exists. I have Up2date openSUSE 10.2 (Linux nbook 2.6.18.8-0.3-default #1 SMP Tue Apr 17 08:42:35 UTC 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux)

After updateing my OpenSUSE (I don't even remember, what kind of packages where updated) I don't be able to start knotes. It will crash with SIGSEGV 11 at once (see my added attachment knotes-crash.txt)
Comment 4 Brian 2007-06-18 16:54:40 UTC
I am experiencing the same problem, but it just happened after booting today. No previous system crash or updates since it worked last Friday (15th). Could it be date related ?
I am also running up-to-date openSuse 10.2.
Comment 5 Ralf Hemmenstaedt 2007-06-18 18:13:06 UTC
This bug seems to be related to the update of kdepim3-3.5.5-39.
Downgrading to kdepim3-3.5.5-36 brings knotes back to work.
Which version of kdepim3 do you have installed?

Comment 6 Karl Scriba 2007-06-19 01:30:57 UTC
I have kdepim3-3.5.5-39 installed.

Downgrading to kdepim3-3.5.5-36 results in knotes no longer crashing on startup and there appears to have been no knotes data loss.
