Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux If you click on a link on facebook and then immediately move the mouse before the link begins to load, konqueror starts to drag the link, the mouse changes permanently to the no-go symbol and nothing is accessible until konqueror is killed. This only happens when you click on a link to open in the same tab, new tab or new window works fine.

I disagree with this bug being marked as a duplicate, bug 144720 deals with artifacts when purposely dragging. This bug details links being dragged when they should not be.
I think so, too... I've run into this bug myself. (Unless, of course, both bugs have the same cause.)
Even better example: Go to osnews.com, scroll all the way down, and click the "Add Mozilla Sidebar" image. It points to "javascript:addNetscapePanel();". When you click it, a confirmation dialog box appears - and Konqueror switches to link-dragging mode.

I find on my Fujitsu tablet that it's very difficult to tap links, icons, text... without it converting into highlight/drag mode. This problem is rampant in Konqueror where I'll try to tap on a link and Konqueror will either highlight half the page or think I'm trying to drag the link someplace else. It's also apparent in other programs like Dolphin and/or Kontact where trying to select a folder or an e-mail will move it some place else instead of selecting it.
sorry... I forgot to add: this is not from lazy tablet technique because this problem happens almost exclusively in KDE applications and I can use GTK applications (like Firefox, GNUCash, GIMP) without having to fight with my tablet.
Can you still reproduce with current KDE (>= 4.6.4) ?
