Túlio, the backtrace you gave is the same as in bug 146417. You may want to keep an eye on that bug instead of this one.
I've recently seen cups-pdf work flawlessly on an openSUSE 10.2 system. Therefore I assume that this is more an Ubuntu/Kubuntu bug in their packaging than anything else. Please report that bug at the Ubuntu bug tracker (https://bugs.launchpad.net/) and close it here. (I'll close it after a timeout of 4 weeks myself, should you forget about it.)
