Description Joseph Reagle 2007-05-30 20:44:01 UTC
Version: 3.5.7 (using KDE KDE 3.5.7)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I think this happened in 3.5.7, but Konq used to decode entities and such when typed into the addressbar, or sent there by another app. For example, in Freemind, an XML based mindmapper, when I click a hyperlinked text, it will call Konq as the helper app and pass it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Assume_good_faith&oldid=2617791

which should be decoded to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Assume_good_faith&oldid=2617791

I fail to see how this is a Konqueror bug. Decoding & must be done by your XML app, it doesn't belong in the URL.

Do other browsers really decode the & ?

I don't have this problem anymore, feel free to close.
