Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.7) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I think having a virtual keyboard as a separate panel or program to stick on a panel would make using kde on a tablet a GAZILLION times easier!! With upcoming MID tablets from intel with adequate cpus to run kde with, it is even more important to have such a thing. To put it simply: xvkbd just doesn't cut it, a panel or panel-app would be much better.
Hello, There is also viki but i do not know its current status. Thanks.
Viki is still part of KDE, now in the playground, under: http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/playground/utils/viki/ I have not done anything on it since porting to Qt4, but it should still work AFAIK.
I added a couple of compile fixes, and also bug fixes to the SVN version.
I am running openSUSE 11.0 ,. I tried running viki and this was the error: No keycode for "AE00". Where can I update this program? The version indicated is "0.0SVNr784595-43.1".
There is a plasmoid that exactly add this feature. For KDE 4.3 you find it here: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Plasmaboard?content=101822 The virtual keyboard will be part of KDE 4.4 kdeplasma-addons package. Please close this bug.
