Version: 1.2.5 (using KDE 3.5.7 "release 10.1" , openSUSE ) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.2-34-default After sync'ing with palm pilot using KPilot, I restarted Kontact and received the following in a modal dialog box. "Could not find MIME type ... application/octet-stream". Once I dismissed the box Kontact started but, at an initial intro page without any content. Then the following dialog box was displayed. "No MIME types installed".
Did you upgrade KDE without restarting?
Closing. No response from reporter. The reporter probably did not restart KDE after upgrading.
Upgraded KDE to newest release and KPilot works for the most part. I still have intermittent issues with the KPilot Daemon crashing when trying to sync. However, if I restart KPilot after the crash it does sync. Also, one important note, failure to reboot after upgrading KDE did introduce irratic behavior. Since it seems likely that components necessary for KDE to function were most likely loaded in storage before the upgrade, I'm not at all surprised by that. Fran
>I still have intermittent issues with the KPilot Daemon crashing when trying to sync. This has nothing to do with this bug report though. This report is ONLY about the "missing mime type" thing. For other problems, like the crashes you mentioned, please create a new bug report (for KPilot, not for Kontact). Be sure to check if the bug has already been reported before you create a new report. Only reopen this report if you still have problems with the mime types.
