Version:           kmail 1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
OS:                Linux

Kmail crashes if I want to open the attached message. Happens always.

Usually I get nice backtraces in cases of crashes, but now I get this:

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".

I opened it a 4th time to see if a valid backtrace appers, but now it did not crash! So it does not happen always.

Does not crash for me either.
If you don't provide a way to reliably reproduce this or provide a backtrace there is nothing we can do.
Please reopen if you have more info.
