Version:           1.2.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
OS:                Linux

Unlike many KDE applications, akregator needs to be restarted for proxy changes to take effect.

Tested with akregator in KDE 4.7.x and cannot reproduce.
