Version:           0.2 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14)
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-15-386

when I try to add a printer (add -- printer-class add) I get the error popup dialog

Beim Laden der DruckerListe ist folgender fehler aufgetraten
server-error-internal error

when loading printer list the following error occured
server-error-internal-error

then the assistant opens but on the seond device screen no options are listed, all gray. I cannot proceed as I am asked to select an item which is impossible

...also occurs when it root mode.

Unfortunately, there is not much that KDEPrint can do about that. This is the exact error message that the underlying CUPS print system reports.

CUPS developers committed themselves to make cupsd report better (an human readable) error messages over the next few releases. KDEPrint will likely automatically pick up those messages and report them. For now, not much can be done on the KDE side.

KDEPrint is obsolete, unmaintained and will never be revived.  Closing all open bugs.
