Version: 1.2.4 (using KDE 3.5.6, Kubuntu (feisty) 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.20-15-generic Every time I try to send an email I get a message: 'It's not possible to send messages without specifying a sender address. Please set the email address of identity 'Default' in the Identities section of the configuration dialogue and then try again.' The problem is that I do specify a sender address as I normally do using any other email client. It seems that Kontact doesn't 'see' the email address I enter.
Can you attach a screenshot of the Settings->Configure KMail->Identitites->Modify->General dialog?

Ok, can you attach you kmailrc (that file should be in $HOME/.kde/share/config)? Make sure to remove any passwords in there (if any) before attaching. And please do not use e-mail to add comments to the bug system, use the webinterface. This avoids useless clutter (see above).
I can not reproduce, and the reporter did not specify a way to reproduce either.
