Description tralalas 2007-04-18 00:21:34 UTC
Version: Version 1.2.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Kolab version: 2.1beta
Kolab server distribution: gentoo
Kmail version: 1.9.5
Kontact version: 1.2.3
KDE version: 3.5.5
Distribution: gentoo
Kernel version: 2.6.19-gentoo-r5

I am using kontact (kmail & dimap) for my kolab account. Quite often a conflict between my local calendar, contact or task mail copies (kolab mails) and the serverside copies occurs when logging in. I always choose to take the latest server side copies. Normally nothing special happens then, but now and then I have some completely empty calendar, contact or task kolab mails in some of my kolab folders. Sometimes I even get double kolab mails - one or more identical copies of one kolab mail. When this happen kontact tends to crash when loaded again and only kmail starts in external modus without kontact. Only after deleting all empty and double kolab mails, kontact can be started without crashing. I noticed that especially tasks and calender entries which have a defined reoccurence tend to produce empty or double kolab mails, but I can't really pinpoint if that is the cause. Something that might be linked to this is that after a data exchange with the kolab server the starting date of reoccuring tasks is always changed to something like "25.7.8726", which makes totally no sense. Even after a correction and another data exchange the starting date is again messed up. To make things even worse, I have expierenced several kontact kolab mail losses. After adding a contact's information and a data exchange the whole kontact (kolab mail) is gone/deleted. I have no clue how much this last problem is linked with the precedingly described.
