Description Axel Bojer 2007-04-17 13:50:25 UTC
Version: 1.5.3 (KDE 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 in Kubuntu) (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

AsI corrected the keyboard file I used the documentation, although:

1) You did not document that you would have to use the html entities, both in the keyboard file and in the training file (otherwise < and & would corrupt the latter and special characters, named unicode, was listed as their *html* equivalent, not plain unicode. I have put this information as a comment in my norwegian file, you might want to put it elsewhere too :-) -- at best along with:
    http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/
to help people find their codes .-)

2) The danish file also had some flaws, wich I at first overtook, before I spotted my error. So therefore I also attach the corrected danish keyboard file (I have no danish keyboard so I can not tell if all the other parts are good, for instance: two keys on the left have the same sign on it, but I don't know what's supposed to be there so I had to leave it that way).

3) As you will see, I have put some work into listing also *all* special characters (on my keyboard at least).
Now, what would a touch program need that for? For instance the euro sign and the "at" sign are among them, and they are very frequently used Also other signs could be useful. « and » for instance are the correct norwegian citation marks and you have to use Alt Gr to use it, so some code for it is nice to have for real writing purpose training. This will now be spotted in the training file (if someone makes such a file, that is :-) Maybe I will, at some point, though not now ...)

4) The "TestfilForNorskTastatur.xml" was very helpful for me to test my keyboard file, so just for the case you would want to play with it I submit it too :-)

Best regards
Axel Bojer

I have updated the files in svn now, with your changes. The norwegian keyboard was there, but for some reason it has been disabled. (along with almost half of them) and I don't know why. I will see if I can add them back in. Anyway, thanks for updating the norwegian and danish keyboard files.
Comment 5 Axel Bojer 2007-11-03 15:37:23 UTC
It is a pity, that KDE 3.5.7 did not have this fix. It is really simple: Just add the keyboard file, I can do this manually, but not everyone knows this, and therefore either uses english layout or do'nt use the program.

Version 3.5.9 also seem to be released without the norwegian keyboard file.
Any hope of having it included in the upstream release soon?
Comment 7 Petter Reinholdtsen 2008-06-16 17:16:40 UTC
ktouch version 3.5.9 got a nn.keyboard file included, but no nb.keyboard file.
This is a bit confusing, as the same keyboard is used for both nn and nb
languages in norway, the norwegian keyboard. The nn keyboard is similar to
the nb keyboard provided in this bug request, but is missing some keys
next to the [enter] key. The nb keyboard file matches the layout found on my
IBM thinkpad and Dell USB keyboards, and I believe it is a better choice for
a no.keyboard file.

Please add the norwegian keyboard file as no.keyboard in the distribution,
and remove nn.keyboard.

Both norwegian and danish files are there. Can this be closed?
Comment 9 Petter Reinholdtsen 2020-12-13 09:48:56 UTC
I had a look at version 18.04.1 in Debian Buster, and it got Norwegian keyboard layout. Did not check the danish status.
