Version: 1.5.7 (SVN co on 2007-04-14) (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: automake 1.9 OS: Linux Filed as a bug since the original Ticket state of Bug 89699 is redolved/fixed. Please see my comments there, you may want to close this and reopen the original Ticket (I cannot do this). Tanks.
How to use this feature: Click on a class using the left mouse button in a class diagram, then press <Alt>+cursorkey. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 89699 ***
Thanks, Oliver, and sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm using Activity Diagrams most of the time, and it is definitely not working there. ALT+Up/Down moves the diagram selection in the left panel in non-tab-view. Would be great if that could be added there, too. Now of course I admit that the Bug summary is a bit inaccurate. You may want to change that, I somehow cannot do this, I think. Thanks to the devs for the great work anyway, and sorry for being so awkward about this.

Does not happen to me - I can move the objects in an activity diagram just like in all other diagram types. Did you perhaps select "snap to grid" in the General Settings of your activity diagram? (In that case, I confirm that it doesn't work.)
Yes, that's it. Thanks and sorry for my not being able to make that connection myself. Actually, I cannot evaluate if this behavior is intended. It may well be, since in "snap to grid" mode the association lines are even straightened automatically. Having a second look at why my testing yesterday didn't get me to the same result as you, I see that there seems to be a minor misbehavior in umbrello that may actually have misled me. When I select an existing (activity) diagram in the side panel, then click on the canvas (to be sure the keyboard movements affect the right screen area), THEN click on an element already positioned on the canvas and THEN try to move it using ALT+Up/Down, the Element ist in fact not moved. Instead the selection bar in the side panel moves. The element is only moved if you then deselect and select it again. (As of typing this I see that this even only happens occasionally...) This must have incidentally have happened when I tried your suggestion on one of my activity diagrams with snap-to-grid set off. The other testing I must have done on diagrams with snap-to-grid activated. So sorry again for all the fuss and my stupidness. What I'll do is I'll keep an eye on the issue and if I find out something reproducible, I'll let you know. Thanks again for your help, Martin
Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
Does not seem to be a problem in 2.30.3 from Ubtuntu 20.4 packages.
