Description Andrey Balaguta 2007-04-06 17:01:57 UTC
Version: 0.12.3 (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3.1.1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-11-generic

When you have an avatar set through Configure->Identity->Photo and send the very first message after kopete was launched, glitch in chat window occurs: vertical grey bar is displayed instead of avatar, and there's "no picture" sign next to actual smiley. Glitch dissapears after switching windows back and forth in most cases. How it looks like: http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?image=glitchfc9.png

Can't reproduce that with 4.1RC1, seems to be fixed.
Comment 2 George Kiagiadakis 2008-07-22 13:25:21 UTC
I have seen this bug in previous versions of kopete but I cannot reproduce with kopete from KDE 4.0.99. I'll close it for now (and maybe reopen if I ever manage to reproduce accidentally, although I think this is fixed).
Comment 3 George Kiagiadakis 2008-07-23 11:44:49 UTC
I reproduced it :D
It was all accidental, a guy from #kde-bugs sent me a test message to test some bug and I closed the chat, then reopened to see if the history plugin works, and got the drawing bug! And it is not very difficult to hit that bug, although it doesn't happen always. Some other times, the avatar appears but there is a minor drawing bug with the nickname and the upper border of the avatar.

I'll attach screenshots below.

Err, I hit the commit button without checking what I wrote in message #3. I forgot a sentence. It is easily reproducable with the history plugin if there are only one or two messages from the remote contact stored (like in the first screenshot). But it doesn't happen always!
