What is wrong with the tabs? Why don't to implement tabs as in Eclipse or NetBeans or VisualStudio where you can works with tabs but when you have a lot of tabs opened you can use some sort of "switcher" to see all opened tabs and select the one you want? Do you think it will be convenient for anyone to use only "switcher"? I understand that this is you vision of how it should be done. But what am I asking for is to create some online poll where developers who are going to use kdevelop will be able to express their opinion on whether tabs is good or bad. -- Best regards Serhiy
Uhm, its always "who codes decides" and what currently is used as a switcher is just a placeholder. We didn't yet discuss or decide how exactly it will look like, although Alexander has an idea. If you want to take part in KDevelop4 development/discussion please do this on the kdevelop-devel mailinglist. This bugreports are still to be used for KDevelop3.
No worries, UI is not yet finished. The combobox is not a switcher.
Hello, Sorry for bothering you again. But after few months I saw another post about KDevelop http://meson10.wordpress.com/2007/08/21/code-highlighting-some-hue-after-the-fuss/ and it still has that ugly combo box in place where you want to place something you call "switcher". Is the UI finalized? Are there any mockups? Or when we can expect this finalized? Thanks, Serhiy
Why did you reopen the bugreport? The state is the same as before. If you want to track KDevelop development then please subscribe to the kdevelop-devel list. The selection between files will be finalized when we release the first beta and when that will happen depends on how our progress goes. Note: We don't release with the rest of KDE4.
