Version: 1.2.3 (using KDE 3.5.5 "release 45.2" , openSUSE 10.2) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18.8-0.1-default When writing mails with HTML enabled Umlauts like äöü are treated in a very strange manner: In the composer I have set the character set to 1. ISO-8859-1 2. US-ASCII 3. UTF-8(locale) 4. UTF-8 This setting allows me to write mails to Windows users and use Umlauts that are displayed correctly. This is not the standard setting by the way. The standard setting gives me even more headaches. Write a mail and save it to the drafts folder: The preview window shows the umlauts correctly. Reopening the mail for editing will translate all umlauts in character sequences like =DF, ... With ISO not being the first choice for character set sends these character sequences to mail recipients right away. If I send this mail to myself I get a correct display of umlauts only when using ISO. All other character sets are not recognized when reading my own mails. If this is only a configuration item it would be great to have it configured correctly when choosing different languages - German in my case. Thanks a lot for your answer in advance. Uwe
