Version: 0.12.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux When I receive a file, Kopete aborts the transfer randomly. For example I received 10 files at once, and after the fifth file everything stopped, I had no network traffic. I figured out that Opera (uses Qt) upload could hang this. But after I recalled the last files, the progress bar moved to about 6 per cent and I started to play something in Amarok. Immediately Kopete hanged the file transfer; my chat partner asked my why I had aborted the transfer.
It also happened again. I saw that Amarok tried to submit some tracks to last.fm when my chat partner asked me again whether I was who aborted one of the transfers.
> I saw that Amarok tried to submit some tracks to last.fm when my chat > partner asked me again whether I was who aborted one of the transfers. that sounds suspiciously like the behaviour of some routers I've seen. are you behind a router? is there a lot of other traffic on the network? I've known some to start cutting off connections when they get too many to handle. it's a real pain.
Yes, you're right; I'm behind a router (D-Link, as far as I know). But there is no traffic on the network. And that's interesting; Kopete can handle 10 file transfers at one time but when Amarok tries to connect to the network (eg. submitting a track to last.fm) one of the transfers is aborted. Is it possible that there is any problem with the KIO? However, I don't know how Amarok connects.
ATM, on newer version on kopete/amarok/kde is this problem still valid? Otherwise we should close it.
We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
