Looking at http://rss.gmane.org/topics/excerpts/gmane.comp.gnu.binutils in Akregator the newlines in the messages are chopped off. 

Looks like Akregator tries to parse this as html and as there is no break tag newlines are chopped off.

Confirmed, I added the feed to the test suite for libsyndication.
As it doesn't make sense to collect single feeds here, I close this report.
(And I just choose Invalid because there is nothing better - it's of course not invalid)
