Description David Anderson 2007-03-13 06:40:07 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

The file dialogue in KDE has a filter. This filter requires you to type in a glob (e.g. *.png) , and press Return to activate it.

Everywhere else on the desktop (e.g. dolphin, kmail), filters are instant and are partial matches. These are more user-friendly (they don't require to know globs, and they update instantly).

The file dialogue should update to use this kind of filter.

Moving from "kio/kfile" component to "kfile" product, helps sorting out duplicates.
