Description Nicolas L. 2007-02-26 14:23:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

if i print from a KDE application i don't have any problems, the job is perfectly shown on KJobViewer, but if i print from Firefox, OpenOffice.org, i don't have anything shown on KJobViewer. But if i look into the cups web Interface, i can see the jobs and cancel them.

sorry, closing as WFM
Comment 2 Nicolas L. 2007-07-26 22:17:56 UTC
to be clearer, when i print from KDE applications ( koffice, kate, ...), kjobviewer is automatifcally launched but if i print from non-KDE applications, kjobviewer isn't launched
Comment 3 Michael Goffioul 2007-08-16 11:13:44 UTC
This is somehow normal, if the non-KDE application doesn't use kprinter to print.
Comment 4 Maciej Pilichowski 2007-08-16 13:10:21 UTC
Couldn't be intercepted (info about printing) from the cups. After all user see KDE, not a mix KDE+firefox.
Comment 5 John Layt 2009-01-02 16:36:17 UTC
KDEPrint in KDE3 is unmaintained and will have no more new features
implemented. This request will never be implemented in KDEPrint as a result.

In KDE4 kjobviewer has been replaced by printer-applet which uses
system-config-printer as a backend. This feature works as requested in printer-applet.

Closing.
