Description Santtu Pajukanta 2007-02-23 22:29:35 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

The About Kontact dialog reports the translators of Kontact components incorrectly. For example, in the Finnish translation of Kontact, the "About Kontact" dialog only shows Teemu Rytilahti in the Translators section of KMail's tab in the About Kontact dialog, whereas when KMail is started separately, "About KMail" shows a significantly longer list of translators.

As most users use KMail embedded within Kontact, I feel that in the current situation credit is not given where it is due. The names of all KMail translators should appear in the About Kontact dialog.

Steps to Reproduce
1. Activate the Finnish translation in the Control Center
2. Run KMail.
3. Select "Ohje" (Help) -> "Tietoja ohjelmasta KMail" (About KMail) -> "Käännös" (Translation).
4. Observe the long list of translators.
5. Close the dialog and quit KMail.
6. Run Kontact.
7. Select "Ohje" (Help) -> "Tietoja ohjelmasta Kontact" (About Kontact) -> "Sähköposti" (Mail) and scroll down until you see the subtitle "Kääntäjät" (Translators)
8. Observe the absence of the names and e-mail addresses of other translators.

This seems to be fixed in KDE 4. There, I can see all translators.
