Description Oliver Zimmermann 2007-02-23 16:11:29 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using KDE 3.5.6 "release 31.2" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.27-0.6-smp

I am using TV-Browser 2.5 and wanted to use the feature to export an entry into KOrganizer. When I tried this, Kontact crashed.

After restart of Kontact it shows the summary. When clicking the KOrganizer icon it crashes again and again.

The backtrace is:

Comment 1 Oliver Zimmermann 2007-02-23 16:17:30 UTC
KOntact and KOrganizer works again after closing TV-Browser. But the TB-Browser export does not work. No crash anymore, but no entry in the calender either...

In the meantime Kontact crashes continously when calling the korganizer module. The backtrace is:

No TV-Browser is running.
Comment 3 Oliver Zimmermann 2007-02-23 18:24:10 UTC
After I had started KOrganizer as a single application, an changed some entries, it is not startable in Kontact anymore. Before the crashes happened I tried to modify some calender entries in Kontact-KOrganizer. This was always refused, saying I have no exclusive access.
Comment 4 Martin Koller 2007-02-25 12:05:57 UTC
It always crashes in KOAgendaItem::paintEvent
Can you modify your .ics file (removing entries) and produce a minimal version of it so that it still crashes (or if you don't care that I get all your entries, send the full file to me m.koller AT surfeu.at)
If you have that, send it to me and I'll try to check where exactly the crash happens (or if you can compile kdepim on your own including debug information, that would also help).
Comment 5 Oliver Zimmermann 2007-03-19 18:39:01 UTC
All right. It does not crash anymore. But it is still not working for Korganizer in Kontact.

TV-Browser creates a single file for each event in /tmp, such as tvbrowser13431.ics. If Korganizer is running solitary this file pops up in the ressources window and the event is displayed.

If Korganizer is running as part of Kontact. This does not work. The file can be added manually and is subsequently displayed.

The event is also displayed when Korganizer runs in Kontact, but was running solitary while creating the events in TV-Browser.

When deleting the event or removing the ressource, the file tvbrowser13431.ics remains in /tmp (which would easily be jammed by such files).

Hi Oliver! Can you test this issue using the new korganizer/kontact in KDE 4.2 beta1?
Comment 7 Sergio Martins 2009-02-12 21:51:41 UTC
The crash while switching between calendar/summary component was fixed in trunk and backported to KDE-4.2.1. and the reporter hasn't been giving feedback lately.

Closing.
