Description Hawk 2007-02-20 09:48:58 UTC
Version: 3.5.5 (using KDE 3.5.6 "release 23.1" , openSUSE )
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.18.2-34-default

I do not know if this is actually a "bug" or just a non-compliant "feature".
I've been merrily using Korganizer for years, and syncing it between my zaurus and my laptop for months.
What happened that we tried sending an .ics export to our zope/plone site, and first noticed the times were off. Eventually realizing they were showing up as UTC rather than Pacific timezone (our location).
Then in digging in further we found that sending the .ics file to other calendar programs had the same problem.
A little more digging showed that there is no VTIMEZONE section in the file.
Is this intentionally left out? Or are we missing a configuration setting?
This is happening on 3 different systems, but mine is the most up to date, so I thought I'd try posting with the most up to date system, and go from there.
This is a major problem since we REALLY need our broadcast schedule showing up for people in the right times.
However, sending this file to any other Korganizer users seems to work just fine, in multiple versions of Korganizer, on Suse 10.0, 10.1, and 10.2 (sorry I don't have the korganizer versions handy on the older systems, but I figured that was mostly irrelevant) as well as Cacko linux Pi/Ko on Zaurus.

Is this a known issue? Am I just missing a settign somewhere to make it properly export .ics with the timezone information correctly included to the standards for VTIMEZONE? Or is this a bug?

Please advise.

Thanks!

It is now working fine for KDE4.
