Description Herbert Kasper 2007-02-17 19:36:42 UTC
Version: Kontact 1.2.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Kpilot 4.6.0 should transfer Kontact-adresses und -dates.
Kpilot shows: Sync with ...
But the Palm becomes no adresses. In other direction the KDE-adressbook becomes no dates and no adresses either from the palm.
My palm ist a Palm III with OS-Version 3.5.
Suse Linux 10.2, It was ok by Suse Linux 10.1.
After the update to version 10.2 began the error.

This sounds almost identical to the problem I have with my Handspring Visor after an upgrade to SuSE 10.2. I had no real problems with earlier versions. pilot-xfer still works fine. I have not got jpilot to work (but have also not tried very hard).

I see the same symptoms on 2 different computers with SuSE 10.2

My Palm T|X worked (not really well) with kpilot from kde-3.5.4 to 3.5.6 (Suse)
With the last two verions of kpilot there are problems:
- Mostly kpilot can not find a connection to my Palm
- Sometimes when I try to use the configuration-assitant and let automatically
find the PDA and the username, kpilot does not react any more and my Palm
  makes a reboot.
- In very rare cases hotsync starts but stopped after 15 minutes.
My System now: openSUSE-10.3.

Hi guys, these problems have been addressed with newer versions of KPilot. Please try the latest version (from KDE 4.2). And yeah, there's another bug already about the configuration assistant. Sorry about that one. =:(

Thank you for the bug report!! Also, I'd really appreciate your help in testing out KPilot from the really-soon-to-be-released KDE 4.2!!! =:)
