Version: 0.9.1beta1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: gcc 4.1.2 I found several odds in the german translation: 1. When dropping a tag from the tag sidebar onto a photo I get a choice offering me to tag the selected photo(s), all photos of the album or the photo I dragged the tag on. The german translation for the last case is like this "Tag auf abgelegtem Photo anwenden". My native langue is german but I had to start digikam in an english locale to understand what was really ment :-) 2. In digikams setup dialog in "save images" with german locale you can read: "Achtung: JPEG is a ist ein verlustbehaftetes Bildformat!" Funny mix or Nice "Denglish" :-) 3. Also in the setup in "Verschiedenes" (etc). The is a complete english entry saying "Apply changes in the right side bar without ..." 4. Also in the setup in Diashow there is a english only entry: "print image filename" 5. The Menu "Bild->Metadaten" in digikams main window is completely in english Thanks Rainer
Sorry for the bad translation. We got a mix-up during the upload of the translation files on the day then 0.9.1beta1 was packed. So there will be multiple strings in english instead of german. Please be aware that some strings does not come from digikam. They come from exiv2 instead which is not really translated at the moment. However i will check all mentioned strings at the weekend. Oliver
Just checked digikam.po for... "Tag auf abgelegtem Photo anwenden" This string is not in the official translation (neither trunk nor stable) Could you give me the english version? "Achtung: JPEG is a ist ein verlustbehaftetes Bildformat!" This string is not in the official translation (neither trunk nor stable) Could you give me the english version? "Apply changes in the &right sidebar without confirmation" Untranslated in the moment, will be translated during next weekend. "Print image file name" Untranslated in the moment, will be translated during next weekend. The Menu "Bild->Metadaten" in digikams main window is completely in english will be checked at home during next weekend Oliver

Sorry I wasn't exact at this point. The exact german string is: <tag> dem abgelegten Eintrag zuordnen the english string is: Assign <tag> to dropped item Have a nice day Rainer
Am Tuesday 13 February 2007 schrieb krienke@uni-koblenz.de: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail] I think both strings are misleading and difficult to understand. I stumble upon it every time I use it. What is meant is 'tag the item under the cursor', which is not very elegant but better to understand. In German it could be 'Bild unterm Mauszeiger markieren' or so. Or simply: 'tag this image' Gerhard
Just changed "Tag auf abgelegtem Photo anwenden" to "Das Stichwort <tag> dem Eintrag zuordnen" "Achtung: JPEG is a ist ein verlustbehaftetes Bildformat!" to "Achtung: JPEG ist ein verlustbehaftetes Bildformat!" Translated "Apply changes in the right side bar without ..." to "Änderungen in der rechten Seitenleiste ohne Rückfrage anwenden" "Print image file name" to "Dateinamen des Bildes anzeigen" "Bild->Metadaten" is already completly translated, so i think it's a missing po file inside the package that you have installed. From my point of view this bug is fixed. The translation will be in the next digikam release. By the way, don't open bug reports against untranslated strings before string freeze. Naturally transaltors need a few days until a new string inside the code will be translated. At least i can't translate in less a minute, Oliver
