Description Alexandre Racine 2007-02-11 21:31:52 UTC
Version: 1.2.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

In Kontact, in the Contacts section, when clicking on a contact email, this will open kmail to compose. Choosing another email program is nowhere to be found.

Thanks.

Does changing the email application in the control center (KDE Components->Default Applications) not work?
Comment 2 Alexandre Racine 2007-02-11 21:51:27 UTC
I am using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop. Is there another way of getting to this program without the menu?
Comment 3 Thomas McGuire 2007-02-11 21:57:15 UTC
The shortest way to do it is to type "kcmshell defaultapplication" in a terminal. If that does not work, you might need to install KControl or possibly kdebase.
Comment 4 Alexandre Racine 2007-02-11 22:58:51 UTC
Yep, that works very much. Thanks. I'll mark this as resolved and take a note.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
