Description dorin 2007-01-30 06:53:30 UTC
Version: 1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Basically it won't let you add new categories for contacts all the times you try this feature, for the most part, it will highlight a category at the top and when you start typing a new category name on the bottom field, it changes the highlighted field instead of adding the new field to the categories listing. This happens most of the time, roughly 3 out of 4 tries, occasionally it will let you do it as it's intended, most of the time it won't work. I use Kubuntu desktop, uname: Linux fxdd-l1 2.6.15-26-386 #1 PREEMPT Thu Aug 3 02:52:00 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux
. Let me know if you need more info.
Warmly,
Dorin

Did you press the Add button before you started typing?

No, moreover there is no white space highlighted in this instance to
add or rename with a new category name which I saw to be the case when
it is working properly.

Fixed by rewrite of the category edit dialog
Comment 4 Tobias Koenig 2009-08-05 16:32:17 UTC
The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
