Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs On Windows, I like having the GMail notifier in my taskbar, to tell me when I get a new message. Kopete does this to a limited extent for my Yahoo inbox, but has room for improvement. It would be nice to incorporate all the functionality of a system-tray mail checker program into Kopete...Kopete is so close to completely replacing these things. Some specific wish items: * Support checking GMail (I can use GMail chat via the Jabber plugin, but this doesn't seem to support mail checking) * Support IMAP & POP mailboxes (perhaps auto-import configured servers from KMail, and launch KMail as the "open Inbox" command for those accounts?) * Have a multi-account "check email now" button that causes all configured accounts that support email to poll for messages and pop up a multi-account summary of which accounts have unread mail. * In the contact list window's "tray" when I mouse-over a protocol icon, show the number of unread messages for that account in the tooltip that appears.
I am also interested in this wish. Please see to it to implement in 4.x
I like Kopete, but don't want to use a separate application for gmail notifications, so I stay with Pidgin for now.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
