Version: 0.2 (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-10-generic The Apply and Reset buttons in this app have reverse order compared to KControl. This is quite confusing for people switching from other Linux distro and for others reasons.
This is quite a major problem, it's entirely inconsistent with the rest of KDE and windows. Furthermore since (most) people read from left to right, while the text is in a left-right language the safest & best option should always be on the left hand side. Also the best option is nearly always presented on the left in real life in English. e.g. Yes/No option on forms. So the current ordering in system settings is a) inconsistent with 95%+ of PC user interfaces, b) inconsistent with the rest of KDE, and c) less suitable for new users.
Also a problem in KDE 4.
On KDE4 the order of buttons is the same on all applications. What do you think about?
All setting dialogs on KDE4 use the same disposition of buttons. I'm closing this. If you find some apps which doesn't respect the default disposition, please open a bug report against that particular product. Thanks :-)
