Version: 0.9.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux The Sony Alpha A100 records if SteadyShot was on or off for each photo. In my friends Windows Explorer, the metadata shows up. Would it be possible to reveal this metadata in Digikam? I would be eternally grateful.
Louis, Sony alpha metadata are based on minolta makernote... The Sony Alpha use this makernote format to store new pictures informations. I'm sure, ihave check this point with some Sony picture samples and i have a Minolta Dynax 5D. To handle properlly the Sony Makernote, the Minolta makernote parser from Exiv2 library need to be updated (i'm sure, i have written this parser (:=))). Nothing need to be done in digiKam for that. Please file a wish in Exiv2 library bugzilla: http://dev.robotbattle.com/bugs/my_view_page.php Thanks in advance. Gilles Caulier
Gilles, I think I understand that the Exiv2 library has to be updated to handle the Sony makernote data. Is that right? Also, digiKam tells me that my .arw raw files are not raw files when I try to use the Raw Converter. I am running Suse 10.2, digiKam 0.9, and I have gotten the latest version of dcraw. Am I doing something wrong? Louis On 15 Jan 2007 06:33:53 -0000, Gilles Caulier <caulier.gilles@kdemail.net> wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]

Try 0.1.3-rc from http://www.kipi-plugins.org or use svn trunk Nota : digiKam image editor can open ARW files. Gilles
Thanks for your help. The kipi update did fix it! You are a true gentleman. DigiKam is a fantastic program that just keeps amazing me. Thanks to you and the team. Louis On 17 Jan 2007 20:41:38 -0000, Gilles Caulier <caulier.gilles@kdemail.net> wrote: [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
