Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Hi, I reported this a month ago at the ubuntu bug tracker - but apparently, nobody at ubuntu forwarded this report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase/+bug/74653 Short: Konqeuror hangs in a nondeterministic fashion when klicking at a pdf-link from some web-page (in normal situations the pdf is displayed via the kpdf kpart inside konqueror). The bug report includes short gdb backtraces (-dbg packages installed) after two observed hangs. I have the full backtraces and the core-files (generated via gdb gcore) saved, too. Please let me now, if you need more information. Best regards PS: I am using Kubuntu 6.10.
Any webpage? A specific one? If so, can i have the link?
sorry - i don't have a specific website for this - I tried the webpage and the direct pdf link after a hang in a new konqueror instance - but i had no luck to reproduce this issue this easy (i.e. it worked many times with the same .pdf form the specific page after one hang).
As both the backtraces show, it hangs in libpoppler. As KPDF does *not* use poppler (but the ubuntu-patched version does), I'd say that ubuntu is responsible for the bug. (It could be also a reason why nobody forwarded it upstream.)
ok, since libpoppler is not supported by the kpdf team and in Ubuntu 7.04 there are no problems anymore I close this report
