the dialog window for printing works but its width is larger than the display

Could you check whether you have very long strings in the printers combo box or in the printing systems one? Can you please attach a screenshot of the dialog?

no, I don't see anything like this. Your question indicates that you don't 
have that problem ?

kpdf1.jpg is how it opens
kpdf2.jpg is after shifting the window to the left

Uhm well, we just use the standard KDEPrint dialog, nothing really exotic.
Reassigning to KDEPrint developers.

It's a distro specific problem, not in original KDE sources. An OpenSUSE patch should follow soon (according to their web page).
