Description Gerhard Kulzer 2006-12-21 12:05:10 UTC
Version: 0.9.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

When in the camera gui the extention based sub-albums option is chosen, the memorized folder is the one of the subfolders instead of the head folder. So next time you want to download a picture, the e.g. JPG subfolder is proposed and a new subfolder is created.

Do you mean memorized while the camera dialog is opened, or while it is closed until it is opened the next time?

Trying to reproduce it here, no album is memorized at all. It is always the "current album" that is highlighted, the one that is currently selected in the main window. If you change the album there while the Camera UI is open, the next time you click "Download selected", the album that is selected in main view will be selected in the dialog. Is that what you observed?

You are right, nothing is memorised.
I was working too long in the same album, which made me think that the previous download directory was memorized. But maybe it should be memorized? Or, in an ideal world, when extention based subfolder is selected, digikam should always select the folder upstream if the cwd is a JPG or CR2 folder.

Sorry, but I don't understand where is the problem exactly...

When you want to download pictures from camera, independently of the 'based sub-albums' option, the target album is selected from a dialog for that...

Do you want than this dialog provide an option to remember the last used target folder from the previous camera gui session ? (if this option is not set, the dialog will select automaticly the current selected album)
