Version: 0.12.3 (using KDE 3.5.5-1.1.el4.kde, CentOS release 4.4 (Final)) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL when I press CTRL ENTER while chatting, everything is sent ok, but in the log file (the XML file) it doesn't appear, so when I see the history upon re-talking to someone, I see the lines merged without carriage return where I pressed. example: Hello World (thats what I sent and the other side got) but in the logs and when I re-open the chat window with the person, I see: HelloWorld Thanks, Hetz
Still in 0.40.0.. However the CRs are in the XML, but are there as literal CRs, not escaped. I assume that qdomdocument is stripping them.
I cannot reproduce this bug in kopete 0.50.80 (KDE 4.0.99). In the xml, the newline characters are indeed not escaped, but in both the chat window the history viewer, the message appears correctly.
I can confirm the behaviour that George described in the comment before with kopete 0.50.80, so WORKSFORME
