Description ietc 2006-12-16 03:01:50 UTC
Version: 1.0.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.1
OS: Linux

Every time I start Konversation, I am subjected to the following error message in three dialogue boxes at once.

Server sent error -1: Received invalid XML markup: unexpected character at 1:50

Konversation has been compiled both with and without the zh_TW language packs, so those apparently are not the culprit.

Three dialogue boxes with same error on every startup.

Note, also, that the error occurs whether or not the server list is opened on
startup.

First of, sorry for the much too long time to get back to you.

These error dialogs actually aren't shown by Konversation - we don't use dialog boxes for error messages. However, Konversation uses the KAddressBook library for integration between KDE address book contacts and IRC users. That means that when starting Konversation, the KAddressBook resource framework comes alive, and if any error happens with a remote resource you set up in KAddressBook, the error gets shown by the KAddressBook library as a dialog box seemingly originating from Konversation. I.e. the root cause is that you have a problem with a remote resource set up in KAddressBook/Kontact.
