Description copong 2006-11-27 14:28:18 UTC
Version: 1.4.4 (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-10-generic

Being in dynamic mode (a dynamic playlist based on an intelligent list that contains all songs with a rating equal or greater than 3 star), amarok skips tracks on a random fashion. It will play a couple of seconds (I believe it will play only what is in the "fade in" buffer or whatever it is) and then skip to the next track.

I can't find any occurrence pattern. It will happen twice in an hour, then it won't happen again for two (or maybe it happens and I don't notice).

I'm using the Xine engine.

I am not able to say if it happens only in MP3 files. The files play fine if I queue them again.

If it only happens in dynamic mode, it's possible that the intensive sql queries were causing xine to run on out buffer and then think that the file had finished. this might be a problem if files are not on a local partition, or you have a slow computer.

the good news is that dynamic mode has been drastically changed to provide much greater performance, so hopefully it should be resolved.

If you believe that i have made incorrect deductions, please reopen the report.
