Description David Baron 2006-11-25 19:55:56 UTC
Version: v0.8.5 (using KDE 3.5.5, compiled sources)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.18-davidb

Download stalled by failed connection or stopped for any other reason or error.

Corrected the condition, i.e. reconnected to net.

Rightclick, choose restart.

Program crashes.

Download will resume once restarted, i.e. by the button in Konqueror or from command lin.

Please provide a backtrace, make sure you've built kdenetwork with ./configure --enable-debug=full .

And eventually specify what you were trying to download if that is not sensitive.
Comment 2 David Baron 2006-11-25 21:36:52 UTC
I will send the crash dump the next time it occurs. However, I probably did not build kdenetwork the debugging--done with a normal konstruct.

I was trying to download a dynebolic iso and the network performance (for whatever reason) was very erratic.

More:

Under these strained circumstances, the kget could freeze up as well. What happens is that clicking the icon will no restore the window or the icon dissappears entirely leaving a black area on the panel.

I would kill and restart, having the same thing occur once again.

While this being typed, the download is running reliably at a fraction of the ADSL speed I pay for.

Comment 0 sound like a dupe of bug 122587.

This crash will occur on restart or resume ..

UNLESS (and this may be a really good clue) the Speed and Rem. Time columns are filled in (i.e. with 0.00 for want of anything better). These columns start out blank. "Pausing", even a stalled download, will put numbers there. Now the resume or restart will not crash.
