Description Michael 2006-11-25 19:43:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.4.6
OS: Linux

When I try to log into Hotmail, it complains that 'The e-mail address or password is incorrect.' When I try to log in again from that page, it works fine. Tried with two different accounts on this system and on a vanilla Kubuntu Edgy installation.
Comment 1 Michael 2006-11-27 10:57:13 UTC
I also see this on Kubuntu Dapper (KDE 3.5.2), which previously did not have the problem.
Comment 2 Eric Thibodeau 2006-11-27 12:52:42 UTC
I see the same thing happening here, I noticed this started to happen at the same time as kopete was no longer able to automatically open the mailbox...both are certainly related. This is also under Gentoo with KDE 3.5.5; GCC 4.1.1.
Comment 3 Sami Cokar 2006-12-15 22:51:44 UTC
This is happening to me as well under Kubuntu feisty (kde 3.5.5).

My "hotmail" setting is to always ask for my password. When I click on "Sign in" the first time, I get:

"The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please retype the e-mail
address and password, or sign up if you haven't already done so. Need
   help signing in?"

I make NO changes and click on "Sign In" again and i am signed in.

I'm trying to experiment with a few different "user agent" settings, but it seems everytime I go to hotmail, konqueror goes back to the "default" UA.

Same problem here - openSUSE 10.2 (KDE 3.5.5).
Comment 5 Marco Mangiante 2007-01-28 20:03:42 UTC
Same problem - Kubuntu Edgy (6.10) - Konqueror 3.5.5
Comment 6 Roderick B. Greening 2007-02-21 15:06:01 UTC
I confirm this issue. It used to work at one point just fine, so I am unsure as to whether something changed with Konqueror or MSN Hotmail or both.

I am using Kde 3.5.6
Comment 7 Roderick B. Greening 2007-02-21 15:08:54 UTC
Could someone update the status here from UNCONFIRMED. As far as I can tell, it's CONFIRMED and should be able to be worked on.

I am using Gentoo (i.e. compile from source is not a problem), and can apply test/patches if needed to determine where this breaks and why (assuming anyone has suggestions).
Comment 8 Marcus Furlong 2007-02-22 22:58:04 UTC
I have this as well, KDE 3.5.6 on Gentoo. It needs the second login to be relatively close in time to the first. E.g. If I wait 5 minutes between the first refusal and the second attempt then I need to do it twice again. If the second attempt it immediately after the first refusal, then it works.
Comment 9 James Ziller 2007-05-30 00:02:48 UTC
Same problem in Mandriva 2007.1
Comment 10 FiNeX 2008-04-20 23:59:55 UTC
Cannot reproduce on konqueror 4. I can login without any problem on hotmail.
Comment 11 Michael 2008-04-21 06:54:56 UTC
As the original reporter, I can also no longer reproduce this (Kubuntu Hardy). Anyone else?
Comment 12 Michael 2008-04-21 06:59:42 UTC
Note: Konqueror 3.5.9.
Comment 13 FiNeX 2008-04-21 11:02:41 UTC
Cannot reproduce on 3.5.9 too.
Comment 14 Michael 2008-04-21 11:10:05 UTC
If anyone else is seeing this as of Konqueror/KDE 3.5.9 please reopen.
