Description Freek de Kruijf 2006-11-14 22:16:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

In the kipiplugin_metadataedit the sentense "<p>Set on this option to set the exposure time of picture, given in seconds." is unclear. I tried to translate but did not get the meaning of it.
It is in the module "exifexposure.cpp:112"

What is confuse... Exposure time is the time during the camera have exposed the CCD with the light from the lens to create the digital image...

I am confused by the set and set. Does one has to set something on in order to be able to set the exposure time or is it about directly setting the exposure time. In other explanatory text elsewhere in the metadataedit it is directly setting a value.
In the first case the wording should be something like "Set this to be able to set", in the second case "Set here this".

And this is right for you ?

"<p>Enable this option to set the exposure time of picture, given in seconds."

Dear Gilles Caulier,

The ", given in seconds" is not relevant here. At least I assume there is
another entry to set the exposure time. Besides, I think there should be
a "the" in front of "picture".

Arnd,

You is more familiarized with English word than me. Can you take a look and fix it in svn ? Thanks in advance

"Enable this option to set the exposure time of the picture"
sounds best to me.
However, I am not sure about the meaning, i.e.
when is the exposure time of the picture set? And from where does
the value come from, which is used for the exposure time?

This string have been fixed in current source code from svn.
