Version: 0.12.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Irix on msn, after i click on send webcam button: i first got a blue picture. i go to Configuration>Configure...>Devices and then see the preview of my webcam fine (in the settings dialog). and then it seems to update the preview that was blue and not working then, after that, each time, i close the preview of my webcam from the settings dialog, the preview window stalls and show a fixed static image which is the last one shown before i close the setting dialog. My peer see too that static image or the blue one firstly i need to let open the preferences of the webcam (with the preview) so that the preview window webcam of msn continue to be updated and does not stop with a static image (a photo) i use archlinux packages: kdenetwork 3.5.5-2 and an Hercules classic webcam with ov51x-jpeg driver from www.rastageeks.com with force_palette=13 option passed to the driver (which is needed to make kopete work and to do not have that green picture. works elsewhere without that but does not only in kopete !!!)
Add an account of type 'Testbed' and use the option 'Show my own video' to see its preview. Does it work in this case or do you still have to show the config dialog?
Please test this bug with a more recent Kopete version, if possible from the 3.5 svn branch. I'm pretty sure it's already fixed, as I tried to reproduce the bug without success. Please report back so we can continue to investigate this. I'll wait for more information about this problem for two weeks, and if no reports come, I'll close the bug as WORKSFORME.
it works with the testbed protocol. it takes 5 seconds at least before the preview show up. but it works. i have not been able to test again the msn video with a peer to see if i still have the same problem. kopete 0.12.7 and kde 3.5.8 Note: i do not have to use anymore the force_palette option when i use the ov51x-jpeg driver.
After two weeks without any reports confirming this bug is still present, I'm closing it as WORKSFORME.
