Description Patrick 2006-11-03 21:09:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Hi there,

I upgraded to libXi 1.1.0 as it came into the gentoo ~x86 (testing) tree today and was surprised that my multimedia keys stopped working. The "Homepage" button worked, though - but for example the Play / Stop / Next / Previous multimedia controls didn't.

It took me a while to figure out that the libXi update broke it, so I'm telling you here.

I don't know what exactly causes the problem, as I'm not into this X stuff, but it would be nice if KDE would work again with the new libXi from X.org. :)

Patrick.

Please close this bug. The problem is users have to rebuild the xorg server after updating libXi, so it's unrelated to KDE.
