Description frederico pflug 2006-11-02 04:53:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

have seen some interesting wishes for the different ways to export photos or entire albuns, but one i'm missing, even thought is similar to 103201.
something would be very nice to see is, if i have tags to different photos, that these tags appear (selectable: add tags to html galery?) below each photo.

i organized my photos including the month, year, place using tags, without renaming the file itself.
so, i have for example:
IMG_1234.jpg tagged with:
- year: 2006
- month: october
- place: london
- vacation

so, all 4 tags would appear below the photo IMG_1234.jpg as they are, maybe only using a semi-colon as separator.
i have in mind specially for export to html galeries, but of course if somebody has better idea, feedback is welcome.

cheers!

Angelo,

Tags can be get from digiKam instance using a picture property. Flickr and SendImages plugins have already a suitable implementation witch can be backported to HTML export plugin.

The bug is about adding extra information in the result html.

When the html gallery is produced based on the images, the only information shown in html seem to be one tag (have to check which one), the image and the image pixels themselves.

It would be interesting, instead of showing the image name, to show its embedded comments, tags, and possibly EXIF information.

For instance, I usually tag imnages eith the place, and names of people. This information, available in kPhotoAlbum, digiKam, etc. is lost in the html generation. instead, it would be good to maintian this information.

Sorry Gilles. Had my computer broken for couple of months.
Will update kipi-plugins and give you a feedback.

Hello Gilles,

Apologies.
I've just tested this and tags associated to the image in digikam don't appear in the HTML gallery.

i'm currently running:
digikam and kipi-plugins 4.6.0-13.23
libkipi 2.2.0

My metadata is written to the img itself + xmp file.
When I open the jpeg generated for the html, the metadata won't appear in showFoto as it does when I open the original jpg.

As of digiKam 6.3.0 it is still the case that the HTML gallery tool does not add write any data about digiKam tags to the gallery.xml file.

This improvement, plus a request for additional metadata, is also seen in bug 147768, so I'm marking this as a duplicate.
