Description Alexander Surma 2006-10-24 15:11:12 UTC
Version: 0.12.2 (using KDE 3.5.5, Debian Package 4:3.5.5a-1 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.18.1

If you try to add a person with a non-existant email-adress, nick oder number, you get an "empty" account in your buddy-list, even if the server responded, that the account does not exist.

which protocol?
Comment 2 Alexander Surma 2006-10-25 09:15:16 UTC
Aw sorry, I forgot: The only ones I use (and therefore could test) are ICQ and MSN. Both same error.
Comment 3 Roman K. 2008-07-07 01:53:06 UTC
I can confirm this with KDE 4.0.85 (KDE 4.1 >= 20080703) openSUSE packages.

ICQ: adding number 123456789123456: an empty contact is created
MSN: adding dsfsdfsdf@sdfsdfsdfsdf.sfdsdfsgdds empty account is created
AOL: i am not able to reproduce this here
Jabber: i am not able to reproduce this here, too

If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.

Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained.

Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
