Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux When a person is typing a message, the status bar at the bottom saying "Blah is typing a message" but if they stop typing, and start typing again, it does not show that they are typing a second time.
Is that only with ICQ or also with other plugins? In the ICQ case, this might be duplicate of bug 134613.
It is also with the AIM plugin. I am not sure about the MSN plugin or the ICQ. I will test it later though, no time right now. Hehe.
The problem for ICQ is in ChatView::remoteTyping function where we have typing timeout. ICQ protocol receive the start and end typing message correctly but If your buddy is typing longer than 6 seconds than the timeout will reset the status bar. For icq and aim the timeout can be removed, but it can brake other protocols. Or we can make a hack in ICQ/AIM that will send typing started signals every 5 seconds till we receive typing finished from server.
